Oral Rehydration (ORS) Salt Production

The IPH is playing key a role in prevention and control of diarroeal diseases in the country. As part of the effort, the Institute is producing ORS through its five units, located at Dhaka, Comilla, Jessore, Barisal and Rangpur. Two more units will start functioning in Mymensingh and Jhenaidah soon. A total of some 35 million packets of ORS are produced yearly, and distributed to the government health service establishments at free of cost for the patients. A dedicated workforce led by an efficient management is running the production and distribution system across the country.
