The Institute engaged itself for conduction of research works in the areas of public health including nutrition, food safety and quality, public health emergencies including IHR related health issues

The Institute supports the national or local public health emergencies or outbreaks through providing expert teams, laboratory services and supply of biological productions including intravenous fluids, ORS and others.

This is also first time in Bangladesh and even in many countries, the IPH is going to introduce the MPH in Food Safety course, under the Banga Bandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. Administrative approval is under process.
